We’re Alaska’s tug and barge company – and we’re growing.

Cook Inlet Tug & Barge has been dedicated to providing marine services without equal since 1924. Specializing in harbor services and fuel distribution throughout South Central, Southeast and Western Alaska, we’re not looking to hire just anyone. We seek skilled mariners with experience in Alaska who crave adventure and take pride in their ability to get things done. Our shoreside team is second to none. Employment Requirements

Master/Mate of Towing 500-1600 GT

Seeking qualified applicants for position as sea going Master/Mate of Towing 500GT (minimum) with oil barge experience 1600 GT preferred, 200 GT for the Shallow Draft Fleet. TOAR endorsement. Near coastal or Oceans Required tankerman PIC (DL) multi-product endorsement. Valid USCG License, STCW, TWIC, HAZWOPER required. Full Time. Experience sailing long hitches in Western Alaska highly preferred.

Vessel Engineer

Seeking qualified applicants for position as vessel engineer with QMED (minimum). Engineer License preferred DDE 4000 or more, Management Level Requirements preferred. Valid USCG License, STCW, AB, TWIC, HAZWOPER required. Experience sailing long hitches in Western Alaska highly preferred.

Tankerman trainee/entry level tankerman

Seeking qualified applicants for position as sea going tankerman trainee/entry level tankerman. Required ordinary MMD document (minimum OS), tankerman PIC assistant. Opportunities include seasonal and full time positions depending on experience. Experience sailing long hitches in Western Alaska highly preferred.

Tankerman

Seeking qualified applicants for position as sea going Able bodied Seaman/Tankerman PIC endorsement (DL) with oil barge experience. Required TWIC, HAZWOPER. Proficient with multi products loads. Opportunities include seasonal and full time positions depending on experience. Experience sailing long hitches in Western Alaska highly preferred.

Able-Bodied Seaman (AB)

Seeking qualified applicants for position as sea going AB. Required USCG license, TWIC.
